requently Asked Questions About Orders and Shipping

What Are the Shipping Times?

Order processing times vary considerably depending on the season, as different types of products require more or less time for logistics. On our website, processing times are published and communicated in a confirmation email once the order has been placed. For specific requirements, you can send an email to \info\@rosebarni.it\

Can I Track My Order?

Once the courier has taken charge of the package, tracking details will be sent so that you can follow the delivery and, if necessary, provide specific instructions directly to the courier.

What Happens if the Courier Is Delayed in Delivering the Package? Is There a Risk That the Plants Will Be Damaged?

Our packaging has been specifically designed to preserve plants inside the box. Bare-root rose bushes can remain in the box for more than two weeks. All other plants supplied in pots are carefully watered, individually bagged, and packed with the utmost care, and can be delivered even after a week. We are available to resolve any problems with the courier, should they arise.

s It Possible to Modify or Cancel an Order?

We are fully available to provide advice and information before placing an order. However, it is possible to cancel or modify an order as long as you have not received the shipping notification email, by calling \0573380464\ or sending an email to \info\@rosebarni.it\ . Once the package has been shipped, it is no longer possible to make changes, and the package must be accepted upon delivery.

What Should I Do if I Receive a Damaged Product?

Our packaging is safe for transport because the plants are secured and protected against possible impacts. If the products show any problems when the package is opened, we recommend sending photographs immediately to info@rosebarni.it . Each case will be handled individually, and a solution will be found to ensure customer satisfaction.

Is It Possible to Return a Product?

Pursuant to Article 59 of the Consumer Code, plants fall within the category of goods that are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly (letter d); therefore, returns are not permitted for these products. It is understood that other items, such as potting soils, fertilizers, products, and accessories, may be returned within 14 days of receipt. Return shipping costs are borne by the customer.

Frequently Asked Questions About Rose Bushes

What Is the Best Time for Transplanting?

All plants should be planted during the autumn and winter months to follow their natural cycle, allowing the roots to gradually establish contact with the soil and the plant to slowly adapt to its new environment, so that it is ready to resume growth the following spring.

Roses have no problems with cold resistance, as plants stop their vegetative activity during the winter months.

For rose bushes purchased in pots, transplanting can be carried out at any time of the year, preferably avoiding the hottest summer months (July–August).

Is It Better to Buy Bare-Root or Potted Rose Bushes?

The wide selection of varieties, lower cost, and minimal need for care and watering during the November–February period are all advantages of purchasing bare-root rose bushes compared to plants supplied in pots. On the other hand, a rose bush purchased in a pot can be planted even when it is actively growing, bearing in mind that the plant will need regular watering, especially during the first year after planting.

What Happens if the Area Has Very Harsh Winters or Very Hot Summers?

Roses are generally extremely resistant to cold, as they lose their foliage in winter and become dormant. Minor frost damage may occur at the tips of the branches, which would in any case be removed during pruning. On the other hand, roses are highly resistant to heat and drought, thanks to their root system, which tends to grow deep into the ground, allowing them to absorb moisture from the soil.

Are There Specific Varieties Suitable for Growing in Pots?

All types of roses can be grown in pots, provided that two conditions are met: 1) a sufficiently tall container (at least 35–40 cm) to accommodate the root system; 2) a growing medium consisting of a mixture of potting soil, peat, and well-rotted manure, ideal for retaining water and mineral nutrients.

What Do the Roses Look Like Upon Arrival?

We are a traditional nursery that does not force plants to grow under controlled conditions. Therefore, upon delivery, the appearance of the rose bushes and all other ornamental plants will reflect their natural seasonal growth cycle. To encourage repeat flowering, it is good practice to cut back the stems of faded flowers to approximately half their length: in most cases, the plants arrive without flowers.

What Should I Do When the Plants Arrive?

Once you receive the plants, open the packaging as soon as possible and remove them, making sure to keep them outdoors. All transplanting instructions are always included in the package, both for bare-root and potted rose bushes. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

How Long Do I Have to Transplant the Rose Bushes Once I Receive Them?

Bare-root plants can be transplanted within 10–15 days of receipt. If it is not possible to proceed immediately, the bag containing the plants must remain closed and be kept in a place without light or heating (garage, cellar, or similar).

Potted rose bushes can be transplanted at any time. However, it is advisable to transplant them into the ground or a larger pot as soon as possible, so that the roots can begin to establish and the plant can produce new branches.

Are the Roses Propagated by Grafting or Cuttings?

The best method of propagating roses depends on the variety: our production includes both grafted rose bushes and those grown from cuttings. For further details, please do not hesitate to contact us by email ( info@rosebarni.it ) or by phone ( 0573380464 ).

Frequently Asked Questions About Shrubs and Climbing Plants

How Are Ornamental Plants Supplied?

All ornamental plants are supplied in pots, already rooted and ready for transplanting. Every plant is a unique living organism: the photos are representative of the variety, but the appearance of the foliage and blooms varies depending on the season and the plant's life cycle. We are a traditional nursery, and our plants are grown outdoors, without being forced in greenhouses.

When Should the Received Plants Be Transplanted?

As they have been grown in pots, our plants arrive already rooted and can be planted immediately, ensuring an adequate and regular water supply, especially during their active growing season. You can ask for any cultivation advice by calling 0573380464 or by sending an email to info@rosebarni.it

What Should I Do if the Plant Has Some Yellow or Dry Leaves Upon Arrival?

Our packaging is specially designed to maintain the right level of moisture during transport, but it may happen that, during the period without direct light, the plant shows some minor signs of travel stress. Simply water the plant and place it in the light, and it will recover within a few days. If you encounter any problems, simply send a photo by email to info@rosebarni.it

Will My Ornamental Plant Bloom in the First Year After Planting?

Our nursery grows and supplies young plants so that they can take root and develop in the place where they are planted. It is not guaranteed that the plant will produce abundant blooms in the first year after planting, as it will initially use its energy to develop branches and a healthy foliage system, which are essential for subsequent flowering.

Frequently Asked Questions About Herbaceous Perennials

How Will the Herbaceous Plants Arrive?

Herbaceous perennials produce new growth in spring and provide blooms throughout the season, depending on the species and variety. In late autumn and winter, their above-ground parts die back and dry out completely. If purchased during this period, some pots may arrive containing only soil, as the above-ground growth has been cut back.

In What Form Will the Herbaceous Plants Arrive, and When Should They Be Transplanted?

Herbaceous perennials are supplied in pots measuring 14 cm in diameter and can be planted immediately, provided the soil is workable. During very hot periods, it is important to ensure regular watering while the plants become established.

What Are the Risks During Transport?

Herbaceous perennials are extremely hardy and can remain enclosed in boxes for several days. They also have a great ability to regenerate, so if they develop any broken or yellowed leaves during transport, simply clean up the plants, and they will produce new growth from the soil in a short time.

Frequently Asked Questions About Other Products

How Are Ornamental Plants Supplied?

Terra di Toscana potting soil is a specially designed and formulated blend that provides maximum performance for plants grown in difficult soils or in pots. Compared to standard universal potting soil, it contains non-peat components, such as coconut fiber, which help maintain the right level of moisture in the soil.

Which Fertilizers Are Best Suited for Plants?

Slow-release granular fertilizers, such as Grani di Toscana for roses or other products for acid-loving plants, nourish plants gradually and consistently throughout the season, ensuring prolonged flowering over time.

Are the Products for Sale Safe for Pets and Children?

Products designed to prevent or treat fungal diseases or insect infestations are classified as organic products, as they make use of naturally derived substances, such as Neem oil or rhizosphere fungi. They are rapidly absorbed and are not hazardous.

How Are These Products Packaged?

Boxes, bags, bottles, pots, and iron structures are securely packed using tested methods to ensure safe transport without any problems. We are available to provide any additional details before shipping.
