ROSA RUGOSA DA SIEPE

For this purpose, we use Rosa Rugosa plants, of northern origin, resistant also in high mountain, where few other species survive. Of course, it grows also on the plain. If they are planted in double rows, they form quickly an impenetrable hedge, but also isolated groups of five or more plants give a very beautiful ornamental effect. Being reproduced by seed, the colours are mixed, from white to magenta red. At the summer end, they produce big bright red hips which stand on the plants until late January .||
